OIGT Launches Call for Expert Assessors to Elevate Global Health Exercise Programme

In its ongoing effort to advance global health and tropical medicine, the OIGT is enhancing its Physician GH&TM Training Curriculum by emphasizing real-world, sustainable healthcare development in low and middle-income countries. A pivotal element of this curriculum is the Global Health Exercise, mandatory for all residents during their 6-month rotation.untitled-design-22

This exercise encourages residents to engage in projects that foster the development and sustainability of local healthcare systems. Activities range from conducting qualitative audits, situational analyses, and project descriptions to implementing educational activities, clinical training, and quality improvement initiatives.

To uphold and enhance the quality of these transformative experiences, OIGT seeks health professionals with a robust background in global health for the role of assessors. The responsibilities include approving exercise proposals and conducting final assessments, with an estimated commitment of 3 to 5 hours per exercise.

Assessors will be rewarded with:

  • Accreditation: Earn 1 accreditation point per hour, up to a maximum of 5 points, applicable for PGHTM re-registry.
  • Compensation: Receive €67 per hour, with a potential total of €335.

This initiative represents a unique opportunity for seasoned health professionals to apply their expertise in a meaningful way, guiding the next generation towards impactful contributions to global health.

If you have the expertise and a passion for shaping the future of global healthcare, we warmly invite you to join us in this crucial endeavour. For more details or to express your interest in becoming an assessor, please reach out to Heleen Kruip at dnalnetiub.[antispam].@oigt.nl.

Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of communities around the world.
